The Colors That Were

The colors this fall made me so happy. I think that I missed fall while I was in China. I was surprised to remember how colorful it is here.

Here's around Blue Light #3...

This is what you see when you walk out our front door.

This is the swing, Brutis, that Natali and I made in the backyard of BL#3.

Logan Canyon in the morning when you don't want to go to class...

I love lens flare. :)

And here is what the sunrise over Bear Lake does to fields of wildflowers... :)

I love this! Morning light is always the best. Pity I don't get up earlier to see more of it.

Summer Of Goodness Has Begun!

I just have to say that I am so excited for summer. And... It's here! :)
I can't wait for what the next four months hold. I just moved into a new apartment with my best friend, Jessie Ann Kingsford, and I'm ooober excited. Our apartment has tons of room, which is going to be used for dance parties and the like. It's going to be great. I'm way excited to get to know our new roommate Lori too. It's going to be a party.
And I love how Jessie and I are decorating our bedroom! We're hanging up silk scarves everywhere on the walls and ceiling. We're also going to have an "URF" wall. If you don't know what an "URF" is, that's okay. Very few people do. And those that do only know because Jessie and/or I told them. Basically, the simple definition of "URF" is just hippy, but with a modern twist. We love making "URF" jokes. This is only allowed though since we are both in denial of the fact that we both actually are "URFs". So yeah. :) If none of this makes sense, just stop by Gray Brick #2 and come and see. Then you will understand. A lot of it is a visual thing anyway. :P I'll post pictures of all it as soon as it's complete. It's going to be the coolest, most hilarious thing ever!
Also, I'm going to try and get a real tan this summer. Shocker I know. I doubt that it's even possible, but whatever. I can get some color through a burn, right? Even if it does peel off that weekend. My Chaco line is already lacking, sadly. I'll probably just cheat on it again like last year though. It's amazing what some tanning lotion can do... :P I'm just kidding though. (Kind of...)
Anyway. I know we're going to have fun neighbors and that it's just going to be a summer of goodness all around. I mean, as if life isn't already good right?
Anyway. Pictures to follow soon. :)

The Jessies...

So, these pictures are the result of my photo assignment that I did on black and white film. I took them all on film first, but I really wanted to have something in digital and color that I could play with too.

Jessie Jo, my roommate, and Jessie Ann, my best friend, were both lovely enough to oblige and be my photo victims out in the freezing cold. :) Aren't they both gorgeous??

I wanted to take more, but by the time Jessie Ann (the first one you're going to see) and I went out, it was too cold to stay out long. Anyway.

A tribute to our dear fish, Matey...

So as of last friday our apartment was the proud owner of four new fish... Ahoy, Matey, Scallyway, and Yarg. (They were obviously pirate fish you see...)
By day two, Ahoy, Scallyway, and Yarg were gone. *Tear* But we still had Matey! Until two days ago that is.

Here is a picture of him the day before he passed as well...

There has been talk around the apartment of buying yet another fish. My vote is for a beta. They are my fav. :)

Just because it says "Dishwashing Liquid" doesn't mean you can put it in a dishwasher...

Yeah... This was the discovery I made on Tuesday night. I was in my room with Jessie (best friend) when Katie, the counsin of Jessie Jo (lovely roommate), announced that there were bubbles oozing from our dishwasher.

Sure enough, as I ran into the kitchen I could very clearly see what she was talking about. There stood a lovely puddle of fluffy white that was slowly creeping it's way closer and closer to the carpet...

Long story short, Laura and I grabbed spoons, cups, and a bucket and scooped all the bubbles out of the dishwasher and off the floor before anything too much more drastic happened.

Lesson learned: Read dish soap bottles carfully. They can be clever. My only excuse/defense is that I'm just used to the powder kind.

Anyway, at least we have a really clean dishwasher now. :)

When fog freezes durring the night...

Last night I could just tell by the fog that we were going to have another amazing frost day today! Check it out!
